A video circulating on social media purports to show that President Joe Biden called climate change a non-issue while speaking to a crowd at a tech company in California.
The text above the recording, shared on Instagram November 15, reads, “Joe lets his inner voice out again,” suggesting that Biden has accepted his honest stance on the crisis of the sky
“We’re spending money to deal with the climate crisis,” Biden said in the video. “I’m sure you all know there’s no problem with the weather. I’m sure you do.”
The caption on the video said, “Yes we know you’ve been lying for decades.”

The video is real and unedited — but Biden was joking, and the 19-second clip shared on social media was cut before it could be seen.
Shortly before November 8, Biden stopped in California to campaign for US Rep. Mike Levin, a Democrat, was eventually re-elected. Biden’s stop on Nov. 4 was a speech to local Democrats and employees of Viasat, a satellite Internet provider and telecommunications company headquartered in Carlsbad.
During the speech, Biden focused on his administration’s economic achievements, including the CHIPS and Science Act, which provides nearly $40 billion in funding to encourage domestic semiconductor manufacturing. Viasat designs semiconductors for a variety of products, including satellite internet equipment and encryption equipment for the U.S. government, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
Biden also touched on insulin resistance and climate change. Turning to the topic of climate change, Biden joked that climate change is not a problem. A video of his speech captured the crowd laughing in response to his words.
Biden didn’t really question the legitimacy of climate change.
Here’s what he said:
“Also, we are making the biggest investment to deal with the climate crisis. I’m sure you all know that there is no climate crisis.” Here, Biden paused, and people in the crowd laughed. “I know you know. That’s why I spent so much time in Arizona, New Mexico, California, all over – flying up and down this country with your governor and those fireworks. I know that just happen.”
He paused again and took on a tone of disbelief before continuing: “Come on. We finally got to the point where no one would call it a weather problem. I was able to get it without everything I need, but $369 billion is included in that bill,” a reference to the Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act.
Our decision
An Instagram post said Biden said, “I’m sure you know there’s no climate problem,” pointing out that the man has been “lying” about climate change for “decades.”
The 19-second video clip in the ad took out of context to make it unclear that Biden was joking. The entire clip shows the crowd laughing in response to his speech.
We rate this ad False.
