The blossoming of the relationship between The Challenge: Ride or Die star Jack Maddox a Jay Starrett it’s over for good– because of the shadowy attempt at reconciliation by Jay.
In the November 17 episode of MTV’s Official Challenge PodcastJakk said that after they broke up on air, Jay reached out to him after the show wrapped to apologize for letting him go.
According to Jakk, Jay asks if they can get together and “talk,” which Jakk says he’s on time to do—- until Jay said something that made Jakk question Jay’s intentions.
“He sent a message and he was like, ‘Okay, I’m going to bring my best camera to make, like, [Instagram] content,’” says Jakk.
The fact that Jay says he wants to film their breakup for The ‘Gram doesn’t sit well with Jakk.
“This is the first time we’ve been together after you’re so mad at me for $500,000 that you need to create content on your Instagram so that fans don’t come to you because you’re dumb . [move]?” Jakk said. “And I was like, oh, so it’s not really true.”
Jakk said that this might be a chance for Jay to redeem himself, and that he would like to talk to him.
“I can move on from anything. But that’s weird. That made me confused so I blocked his number,” said Jakk.
Jakk also said that he believes Jay befriended him before filming “Ride or Dies” as part of his “strategy” for the game. She said she and Jay got together while they were in quarantine as part of MTV’s work on the contestants.
“We were on FaceTime with each other. That’s what I really talked about. I thought it was very stable because I had never talked to anyone else like that in the house,” he said.
At the beginning of the season, Jakk and Jay’s friendship is unbreakable.
However, Jakk and his BFF Laurel Stucky blinded Jay and his partner Michele Fitzgerald cast them into oblivion.
