Good: It’s free and easy to connect with users with similar interests to create strong communities, and also reduce, like Mastodon.
Problem: It has a rough and ready developer interface that some users may find difficult to navigate
Fans only
What is that? A content subscription service
User: About 120 million
Good: Creators can make money from their work without any restrictions
Problem: The site is better known for its content than its art
Lips
What is that? A creative space for women and LGBTQIA+ creators and their fans
User: About 20,000
Good: It breaks barriers and aims to create an online space for small communities
Problem: Like OnlyFans, it has more to do with sexuality than art
Be Serious
What is that? It’s a photo app that asks users to take “real” photos at specific times each day
User: About 23 million
Good: It encourages a neutral, neutral, and refreshing aesthetic
Problem: Photo mode, which captures an image using the front and rear cameras on your phone, is limited
