Her latest Instagram photo features a large container of pre-workout lemon-lime laxative solution, and in the caption, she explained the terrible struggles she faced at before.
If you don’t know, a colonoscopy is performed using a simple camera to examine the colon for signs of cancer, such as polyps or bleeding, at the Cleveland Clinic. And emptying the bowels with any type of laxative is important to ensure a successful procedure.
In his post, Gilbert explained how he took a different approach than before (and his doctor’s advice, that is) to avoid the problems associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) that he has experienced in before.
“I’ve done a colonel before, and the arrangement made me very sad. More than the previous pain. In the past I’ve been sick in an IBS situation for days and days afterwards,” she explained.
According to the University of Cleveland, there are many different types of bowel preparation kits, and the polymer-based (aka PEG) models are the most recommended and the easiest for people with stomach problems because they don’t disturbing the soft tissue of the intestine. Gilbert’s photo of his bottle says it’s a PEG model.
“But to drink the sweet things in two or three hours, my dear [doctor] I have recommended that I start in the morning and drink two glasses and wait an hour or two, drink two more, and so on until everything is clear,” he explained. . “He told me I’d better focus on preparation.”
He also said he followed a modified liquid diet of low fiber, no leafy greens, vegetable peels, nuts or popcorn, lots of rice, pasta, smoothies, water and fish for four days before. .
