GALESBURG, Mich.–(BUSINESS DESCRIPTION)–Intelligent energy management company Eaton today introduced the Twin Vortices Series (TVS®) X3100 supercharger for aftermarket applications. A new design based on both the R-Series and V-Series rotors, the X-Series was developed specifically for aftermarket customers whose primary goal is high airflow performance at high supercharger speeds.
The IX-series rotor is a three-lobe-twist, highly twisted design that delivers 30% more air than the R2650 at comparable pulley speeds while maintaining the same design footprint within the engine compartment. The product was displayed as part of a new Magnuson supercharger kit installed on a 1957 Chevrolet at Eaton’s booth (22743) at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
“The all-new Eaton TVS X3100 is the first rotor design developed directly for the aftermarket and not for OEM,” said Tim Bauer, vice president, Aftermarket, Eaton Vehicle Group North America. “The three-lobe design of the V-Series conserves the engine’s packaging size, while the curved design from the R-series improves high-speed maneuverability. Finally, the X3100 pushes more air at the same power as the R2650 and can be customized by our customers to their specifications.
The X3100 was developed in response to customer demand for greater airflow from a similarly sized engine package. Eaton’s aftermarket TVS aftermarket partners can now offer even more performance to their customers with only minor modifications to their existing housings for better under-the-hood fit and faster time to market.
Compared to the R2650, the new design offers:
-
17% larger displacement (3100cc vs. 2650cc).
-
Over 30% more airflow at 18,000 RPM and 14 psi boost (2.0 PR).
-
About 11% more volumetrically effective.
“Eaton supercharger components offer unmatched quality and reliability, providing consistent performance for the life of the product,” said Bauer. “Our testing and mapping protocols are repeatable and conform to automotive engineering industry standards.”
Eaton is a world leader in supercharger technology, producing over 9 million units over 30 years. All Eaton supercharger components are manufactured using a state-of-the-art manufacturing process and feature a patented rotor coating for improved efficiency. Eaton powder closes the gaps between the surrounds, tips and faces to reduce air leakage and creates near-zero cleanliness between parts, resulting in perfect performance.
Aftermarket superchargers with Eaton TVS Technology are available exclusively from our supercharger partners, including Magnuson Products, LLC; Harrop Engineering; Edelbrock; Roush Performance; and Superchargers Online.
