The stage is set for yet another exciting season of the Pro Tennis League as the fourth edition of the prestigious tournament takes place from 1st December to 5th December at the RK Khanna Tennis Stadium. 64 top international and Indian players will participate in the league this time, all of whom will be divided into eight teams – Bangalore Challengers, DMG Delhi Crusaders, Gurgaon Sapphires, Jodhpur Shankara, Lucknow Aviators, Meerut Stag Babolat Warriors, Provery Supersmashers and Paramount Proc. To add to the spectacle of the competition, reigning Wimbledon doubles champion Matthew Ebden will compete this year, playing for the Gurgaon franchise. This will be the first time the Australian sensation will be competing in a tennis tournament in India.

Speaking ahead of his arrival in New Delhi for the tournament, Ebden expressed his excitement and said it would be a good opportunity to learn new aspects of the sport.

“I have always shared a special connection with India – and its people, and the country’s tennis players, and I can’t wait to return to New Delhi in December for Season 4 of the Pro Tennis League! I believe India and Australia will learn from each other. There is a lot to learn and I am very keen to impart the insight and experience that I have and help tennis in India grow,” said the 34-year-old.

“Also, events like the Pro Tennis League – offer the perfect window to showcase the vibrant talent that the country already has in the right combination of competition and entertainment,” he added.

Along with Ebden, Indian No. 1 Ramkumar Ramanathan is also among the 24 pro men’s players participating in the tournament, who will play for the Bengaluru Bulls. Eight pro women players will also compete in the tournament, including rising star and currently India’s top five women’s player Rhea Bhatia.
