Wolves star Ruben Neves has taken to Instagram to post a message, after Portugal sealed qualification for the World Cup.
Portugal have taken six points from their first two games and Uruguay went winless last night.
Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes scored twice for the Selecao.
Neves played around 70 minutes, also working as a deep central defender.
Another good performance from the 25-year-old, who completed 88% of his passes (Sofascore).
It happened again last night for Matheus Nunes, who was an unused substitute in the first match against Ghana.
Nunes came in and showed some nice touches.
He stunned the crowd in the 95th minute when he collected the ball in his own half and drew a Uruguay player before breaking down the left wing.
Portugal could advance to the final group game against a more relaxed South Korea and qualify for the knockout stages.
After last night’s game, Wolves star Neves announced on Instagram.
He wrote the message ‘Passage guaranteed, we don’t want to stop here. Great team work’.
Many past and present Wolves players responded, including Nelson Semedo, Fernando Marcal and Jose Sa, who were unused substitutes in last night’s game.
Semedo wrote ‘maestro’, Marcal said ‘Too much play!!!!’ and Sa said ‘Follow my tail’.
Ruben Neves makes Wolves proud at the World Cup with Portugal
Neves has had two solid outings this season in Qatar.
It’s good to see Fernando Santos believing in Maestro Molineux with his debut.
She hasn’t really impressed, but she’s finding her feet on the biggest stage, and she’s pretty and good.
He’s doing Wolves proud and hopefully Santos can give him more minutes up front.
It will be great to see Neves play in the knockout stages.
