What Aftab Poonwala’s attackers said after being caught | Tech Reddy

New Delhi: The brazen assailants who stopped the car carrying Aftab Poonawala in the Shraddha Waqar murder case claimed that they will not uphold law and order if anyone hits women, as they are like their daughters and sisters.

The crowd was chanting slogans like Hindu Sena Zindabad, Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Jai Shriram. In a brief conversation with a large number of gathered reporters, one of the attackers said, “We are ready to go to jail. We have got swords from gurudwaras in Delhi and Gurgaon. We are ten. We will get rifles and rifles. Pistols. If anyone dares to hurt our daughters, sisters. By doing so, we will not leave him.”

“We were waiting for him to come out of the lab so that we could attack him to give justice to the respect of our community,” he added.

Reports said that Aftab escaped unhurt in the incident in the car which later went to Tihar Jail where he was lodged. The attack was seen as a major security lapse by Delhi Police officials who were expecting such an attack on him amid widespread public outrage.

Aftab Poonawala, who killed his live-in partner Shraddha Walker, cut her body into 35 pieces and dismembered her in different areas including Mehrauli, was taken to Tihar Jail after completing a polygraph test.
