TVS Motor Company has introduced two new bikes to its Apache range – the Apache RTR 160 and the Apache RTR 180 – as the company continues to strengthen its presence in the increasingly competitive Apache segment.
The price of the Apache RTR 160 (drum version) is ₹1,17,790 (ex-showroom, New Delhi), while the disc variant is priced at ₹1,21,290 and the Apache 160 disc BT version is priced at ₹1,24,590. The Apache RTR 180 Disc BT comes with a price tag of ₹1,30,590.
Increased energy and weight loss
The RTR 160 will produce 16.04 PS of power at 8,750 rpm and a torque of 13.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm, while the RTR 160 delivers 17.02 PS of power at 9000RPM and a torque of 15.5 Nm in 7000.
The increase in power coupled with a weight reduction of 2 kg on the Apache RTR 160 and 1 kg on the Apache RTR 180 has resulted in an improved power-to-weight ratio for both motorcycles, offering an unparalleled riding experience, said the statement.

Although the company is a leader in the above-150cc to 200cc segment with the Apache range of bikes, TVS Motor has seen a sharp decline in its market share over the past year – to around 30 percent from 43 percent last year. increasing competition as Yamaha, Bajaj, and Hero have increased their presence and share in the segment.

New features and technology
Designed as a “New Racing Option”, the new 2022 TVS Apache RTR 160 and 2022 TVS Apache RTR 180 are updated with attractive styling elements and attractive new graphics that match its racing DNA. The two motorcycles have new features such as a new LED headlight, which provides high range and entry light, and a new headlight, an LED tail light, it said.
In addition to providing Bluetooth – a fully digitized digital instrument cluster with SmartXonnect TM technology with Voice Assist, the new bikes come with three riding modes namely – Rain, Urban, and Sport, featuring adaptability to different conditions.
These motorcycles also get X-ring chain, 120mm wide rear wheel, gear position indicator, and TVS Connect App with new UI/UX. Apache RTR 180 series is available in 2 colors, while Apache RTR 160 series is available in 5 colors.
