Two days after announcing Series D funding from Qualcomm Ventures and Lingotto, the launch of an electric car. introduced the F77 series of bikes in India.
Starting at Rs 3.8 lakh, the bikes come in three variants—named Airstrike, Shadow, and Laser—with the main difference being colors. The F77 bikes are offered in two versions – the F77, which has a range of 206 kilometers, and the F77 Recon with 307 kilometers.
The battery packs, which Ultraviolette says are commercial, also come in two capacities.
The TVS Motor-backed startup says it expects to start delivering the F77 in January 2023 in Bengaluru, followed by Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, and Kochi in the second quarter of next year. It also hopes to target low-income cities like Guwahati, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, and Ludhiana by the end of the next financial year.
“Although it was built as an urban, high-performance sports motorcycle, we at Ultraviolette, have spent the last few years putting the F77 in some of the most extreme environments and weather conditions around the country, demonstrating its power and safety features,” he said. The relaunch will release a limited edition F77, with only 77 units to be made.
Ultraviolette has already received 70,000 pre-registrations spread across 190 countries through its website, the company said, adding that international expansion is on the cards.
Production of the F77 is already underway, Ultraviolette said, adding that it will soon open its first experience center in Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, Ather Energy, the leading brand in the area, unveiled its second and largest production facility with the capacity to produce 35,000 scooters per month on Tuesday.
