Gurugram woman bitten by neighbour's pet dog, father also attacked

Gurugram:

A college student suffered injuries on her face and hands after a German Shepherd attacked her in Gurugram, police said on Thursday.

Complainant Preeti Bhati said she was distributing invitations to a friend’s wedding in her locality in Narsingpur village when a neighbour’s dog ran out of the house and bit her – once on the face and thrice on her left hand. .

Preeti Bhati, a BA third year student, said her mother rescued her and took her to the hospital and after discharge filed a police complaint against the dog’s owner.

“The dog’s owner, Kailash, did not even come out of the house to help. My mother ran and rescued me,” Preeti Bhati said in her complaint.

He said the dog had bitten his father before.

Officials at the Sector 37 police station here said a case was registered against Kailash under Section 289 (negligent treatment of animals) of the Indian Penal Code on Wednesday.

SHO Sunita said, “We are investigating the matter. The student is out of danger. An FIR has been registered and action will be taken as per law.”
