TikToker said it’s targeting the $59 discounted tablets | Tech Reddy

According to a viral TikToker, Target recently had a “stupid glitch” and discounted tablets for $59.

TikToker (@extremewalmartclearance) has nearly 915,000 followers and is known for posting about clearance sales at retail stores. The account announced the projected Target sale on Tuesday, and by Wednesday it had received more than 1 million views.

In the video, the TikToker explains that customers can purchase two tablets — one for full price and the other for $59. He said he was supposed to pay $1,624.48 for the two tablets he bought, but he only spent $714.22 thanks to the alleged glitch. He shows his receipt, which lists one tablet for $599.99 and the other for $59.49.

“If that’s not proof enough of what I got for $59, I don’t know what is,” says the TikToker.

Viewers told the TikToker how lucky he was to pull off the theft, and lamented their bad luck for not being able to capitalize on the mistake in time.

“These deals always happen while I’m at work,” commented one viewer.

“As a college student, this was where I needed it,” said another user.

One comment read: “You’re lucky they honored him. It would never have been my goal.”

Others said their Target locations didn’t honor the deal.

“If you ordered online, they canceled them,” said one user.

“Someone came to my Target and tried it, but we have a strict one iPad per person policy,” another user wrote.

One user claimed that the contract was not actually a bug. “Not a mistake. I spoke to the store clerk and she showed me the Zebra machine used to scan and verify items. I got 2 machines for my kids,” they said.

The Daily Dot contacted the creator via a TikTok comment and Target via email.
