Schools closed in Noida and Greater Noida from today. District Administration of Gautambudh Nagar Noida, Greater Noida has announced closure of schools for offline classes till November 8, 2022. The notification asked students of classes 1 to 8 to close schools for offline classes and instead attend online classes. From class 9 to 12, schools have been advised to shift to online mode as far as possible in the district. No update on closure of schools in Delhi yet.
The notice was issued yesterday evening, mandating shifting of classes to online mode for all students up to class 8 in Noida and Greater Noida. The decision has been taken in view of rising pollution levels in Delhi, NCR. Late in the evening, the Air Quality Index, AQI levels in Noida shifted to dangerous levels, prompting immediate closure.

For Delhi schools and schools in Faridabad and Gurgaon and Ghaziabad, there is no update on school holidays as yet. In Delhi, Commission for Air Quality Management, CAQM recommended implementation of GRAP 4 level protocol.

Under this, the administration can announce closure of schools and colleges. No announcement has been made in this regard yet.

Meanwhile, the AQI in Delhi NCR is very severe and dangerously close to the 400 mark. In some parts of the city, the AQI level of pollution crossed the 450 mark.

The situation is equally dire in Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Ghaziabad. Faridabad has been the worst hit so far with the AQI level crossing the 470 mark in various parts. For the rest, including Delhi, the AQI is around 400.
