Instagram has many features to protect the privacy of its users. One of the security tools available on the platform is the incognito mode. With the presence of this mode, users can send another secret message, photo, video, and other information through direct messages. When someone closes the conversation or disables the secret function, the text and messages disappear automatically.
How to enable/disable secret mode in Instagram DMs
Step 1: Launch the Instagram application on your phone.
Step 2: In the upper right corner of your feed, tap Send or Message.
Step 3: Select the conversation you want to send a message in secret mode by tapping on it.
Step 4: Click on the top of the conversation to activate the secret mode.
Step 5: Tap again in your profile to disable the secret mode.
Features of Instagram’s incognito mode
1) Instagram notifies users every time a message is sent to incognito mode. If a new message is sent to you while you are not in incognito mode, you will also be notified.
2) Readers should be aware that when stealth mode is in effect they cannot follow the following:
– Secret messages cannot be copied, saved or forwarded.
– In secret mode, you cannot receive message requests from accounts you have not connected.
3) Incognito mode is only available in chats with other Instagram accounts. It cannot be done in group chats, including chats related to Facebook or Messenger accounts.
4) Receiving documents in incognito mode is not possible for some professional accounts.
5) Only use stealth mode with people you can trust. A screenshot or screenshot of a message in stealth mode, for example, can be done before the message disappears. Instagram will let you know if someone likes a post sent in incognito mode, though. But the recipient can use a camera or other device to take a picture of the lost message before it disappears.
