Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on Monday hit back at his party’s criticism over a video that appears to show jailed Delhi minister Satyendra Jain getting a massage while incarcerated in Tihar jail of the national capital in connection with a case of money laundering.

“It’s physiotherapy… not massages or VIP treatment,” the Delhi minister said.

“They (the BJP) call it massage…VIP treatment…but it’s just physiotherapy. When Amit Shah was minister in Gujarat, he was the one who got VIP treatment there…not so for Jain,” he said. said while living in the state of the survey.

Gujarat is voting for a new government in two phases – on December 1 and 5 – and the BJP is expected to claim an eighth consecutive victory despite challenges from the AAP and the Congress.

Kejriwal’s MP Manish Sisodia – under his role in the alleged alcohol policy scam – also claimed that CCTV footage from Tihar jail showed “treatment for (a) spinal injury”.

Sisodia also accused the BJP of leaking the video to change votes ahead of the Gujarat polls.

However, in a moment of embarrassment for the Delhi deputy chief minister and his party, the comments were later condemned by the Indian Association of Physiotherapists.

The body of medical practitioners has refuted claims that Jain is receiving physiotherapy in jail.

On Saturday, CCTV video of Jain receiving a massage while lying on his bed in a jail cell surfaced on social media, prompting BJP leaders to claim that the video showed “violation of rules in a jail run by the AAP government.”

Jain was arrested and has been in jail since June. A Delhi court denied his bail plea on Thursday.
