One million WY tablets received in Manipur | Tech Reddy

Imphal: A commando team, Imphal East Division seized one lakh pills marked WY and arrested a person from east side of Lilong Arapti Thongkhong in Imphal East district of Manipur on Thursday.

The arrested person has been identified as 35-year-old Pundreimayum Abdul Hadi alias Amu, son of late Abdul Ghafar Khan of Lilong Haoreibi Maha Leikai, Toubal District.

Abdul was arrested by a team of the Imphal East District Command Unit during a random check and preventive security measures taken ahead of Sangai Fesitwal 2022 at Lilong Arapti Thongkhong.

He was in a red Maruti 800 with registration number MN06LA 3217 coming from the west side of Arapti Bridge. During a search of the vehicle, police officers found a bag of ammunition in the back seat of the vehicle. The group opened the gun bag in the presence of the executive judge and a civilian witness and found 10 brown plastic bags. When they were opened, another 50 blue plastic bags containing WY tablets were found. Police said each blue plastic bag contained 50 pills marked WY.

WY tablets, one mobile phone, two sim cards and Rs 360 were recovered from his possession and Abdul was nabbed from there.

The certified person was later handed over to the Irilbung police station along with the seizure.
