No, the Michigan attorney general did not ‘steal’ the race | Tech Reddy

Matt DePerno has continued to falsely claim that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from former President Donald Trump. But when the Republican candidate for attorney general in Michigan lost his own race in the 2022 midterms, he conceded.

“Thank you to all Patriots and supporters across Michigan!,” DePerno tweeted on November 9. “As much as I agree with Dana Nessel today, I refuse to agree that Michigan is a blue state. I will continue to fight like hell to bring Michigan back everything possible. Thanks to each and every one of you!”

But MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, who also published the poll, disagreed with the results.

“Another nation getting stolen in the middle of the night from Matt DePerno,” Lindell’s Instagram post on Nov. 9 said. !”

The post includes a graphic showing an increase in votes for Nessel after 1 a.m. EST on Nov. 9 and a slight drop for DePerno.

We reached out to the Michigan Secretary of State’s office about the post but have not heard back.

We found the website and the graphic in the post showing the vote totals for the candidates from 8:38 pm Eastern Standard Time on November 8 to 3:53 on evening of November 9. This time it shows that Nessel has 2,324,802 votes and DePerno has 1,948,394 votes.

That’s close to the unofficial results on the secretary of state’s website as of 4:41 pm Eastern Standard Time. Nessel’s website showed 2,320,440 votes, or about 53%, and DePerno with 1,945,531 votes, or 45%.

Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson warned on the morning of November 8 that unofficial election results would not be released until the next day amid high voter turnout and displacement more than 1.8 million absentee ballots. Election workers could not begin counting those votes until 7 a.m. on Election Day.

There is no evidence that the vote was stolen from DePerno. We settle that Pants on Fire claim!
