Gurugram:
A 42-year-old property dealer was shot dead in his sleep at his home by unidentified assailants early Sunday morning, police in Gurugram said.
Dharmesh Yadav of Dundahera village was sleeping in his under-construction house in Sector 22, when two armed men killed him around 2 am.
DCP Deepak Sarahan said a laborer sleeping in the same building raised the alarm and informed the family of the deceased.
On receiving the information, a police team reached the spot and tried to take the dead body for post-mortem, but the family members of the deceased initially refused to demand the arrest of the accused.
Police Commissioner Kala Ramachandran assured the family that the accused would be arrested soon, after which the body was handed over to the police.
Coroner Dr. Deepak Mathur said that the victim was shot in the head.
DCP (West) Deepak Saharan said, “The motive behind the murder is not known but we are trying to nab the accused. We are trying to identify them with the help of a CCTV footage. The accused will be arrested soon.”
