JABALPUR (Madhya Pradesh): A man killed his 22-year-old girlfriend in a room in Mekhla under the jurisdiction of Tilwara police station in Jabalpur district on November 8, police said. on Friday.

The murder occurred a month after the main suspect in the case uploaded a video on social media, showing the victim lying in a pool of blood in a hotel room. and the messenger who killed him on the advice of his business partner. .

The video was shared on the victim’s Instagram account on Friday, police said.

The deceased was a resident of Barela, Jabalpur.

The accused Abhijeet Patidar revealed in the video that he and his friend were running a business in Patna. Abhijeet said that he and his friend were in a relationship with the woman. However, he allegedly took money to the tune of Rs 12 lakh from them and fled to Jabalpur. After this, Abhijeet said, his friend asked him to kill him.

Police said the suspect posted a video of the victim lying in a pool of blood in a hotel room. However, he later deleted the video.

Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shivesh Baghel said, “Preliminary investigation has revealed that the suspect had booked a room on November 6 at Mekhla assembly. Going by the CCTV footage of the assembly, he stayed alone in his room that night. The next day, the girl came to meet him in the evening resport, and they asked for something to eat. After about hour, the young man left the hotel after locking his room.”

“On November 8, the hotel manager found the room locked, broke the door and found the woman lying lifeless. On receiving the information, a team rushed police at the spot. A case has been registered. Four special teams have been formed to investigate. The case. An online team is also working on it. We will arrest the accused,” he added.
