This was reported by the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (K-KOMM). As part of PerantiSiswa Keluarga Malaysia, more than 220,000 tablets or up to 60 percent have been distributed to students nationwide. In total, K-KOMM received 470,000 applications and about 350,000 were approved.
According to Bernama, K-KOMM has been distributing PerantiSiswa pills to approved candidates for about two months now, and other eligible candidates will receive them soon. In Sarawak, a total of 22,256 applications were received and 16,505 or 70 percent of the tablets were distributed to students in the state.
Yesterday, 25 students in Selangau, Sarawak received PerantiSiswa tablets directly from Acting Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob during the inauguration of the Selangau section of the Pan Borneo Highway Project. About 400 students later received their tablets during a meeting with Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and Sarawak State Government Scholarship recipients at Universiti Technology Sarawak in Sibu.
