Jamshedpur, November 23: The Sunday morning Jam@Street will return after three years. Modeled on Rahgiri in Gurgaon, Bhubaneswar and other cities, Jam@Streets first started in February 2016 and continued for two years with a break after the pandemic. However, the most awaited weekly event is back with a bang which aims to keep the denizens healthy and fit.
The updated version of Jam@Streets will be presented by Tata Steel UISL, Tata Steel Sports Department and Tata Steel Foundation. Activities will start at 6 am and end at 8:30 am at Bistupur Main Road.
“We are bringing back the concept of a healthy city. We want people to get out of their cozy blankets early in the morning and come here to engage in healthy activities. It can be just walking, cycling or any other sporting activity,” said Tata Steel UISL spokesperson Sukanya Das.
You can cycle, skate, run and walk on Sunday to celebrate life on perhaps Jamshedpur’s busiest streets. People are also invited to participate in community leisure activities such as street play, dance, drama, painting and yoga.
The Jam@Streets was one of the city’s most well-attended events even on a winter morning, giving Steel City families a chance to spend a fun-filled time together with their respective families and friends.
“Jam@Streets is the reason you wake up early even on Sunday mornings. People around, interesting sports activities motivate you to be there and enjoy Sunday mornings, from weekends,” says Prasoon Upadhyay, a radio jockey from Jamshedpur and a regular visitor to Jam@Streets.
