Liverpool transfer target Marcus Thuram has drawn attention to Ibrahima Konate’s latest post on Instagram.

The Liverpool defender played the full 90 minutes of France’s 4-1 World Cup win over Australia last night. Konate was delighted with his third hat trick and posted a post after the game.

“The first one was successful! France +3,” wrote the 23-year-old, alongside a picture of himself working in Al Wakrah.

Among those to respond were Liverpool coach John Achterberg and Swiss defender Dan-Axel Zagadou.

But the most surprising answer came from fellow Frenchman Thuram. Coming off the bench in the final minutes of the game, the Borussia Monchengladbach man sent Konate a ‘heart in the eyes’ emoji.

Turam hot item on the market

Thuram is one of the names to watch in the market next summer, possibly in January. The 25-year-old is coming into the final months of his contract at Gladbach.

As a result, he continued to move quickly. It can be available for free.

For a player who has previously been labeled ‘world class’ by Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schafer, that’s quite a steal.

And, according to reports, that’s a steal Liverpool are hoping for. The Express reported the Reds were interested in Thuram earlier this month.

But Liverpool have been seen as a possible destination for Thuram for several years. Since he’s reportedly been scouted in the past, it’s no surprise to see them get into the frame now.

With the best years still ahead of him and now coming off his first World Cup, the market for him is very busy.

His versatility and ability to create and score make him a rare figure. Liverpool have been there before and it looks like they can do it again.

Maybe Konate will have a word in his ear for the next two weeks.
