Instagram has rolled out an in-app scheduling tool that allows creators and businesses to schedule Funny, Photo and Carousel posts without using third-party software.

The company said on Instagram that creators and businesses will be able to access the scheduling tool with “advance notice” when posting, and plan communications up to 75 days in advance.

Before today, the only way for businesses to schedule posts and comments without a third-party app like Hootsuite was through the Meta Business Suite.

After a business connects its Instagram account to its Facebook page, it can schedule ads and content across both platforms. However, this does not apply to Videos.

The company also said it is testing the ‘Achievements’ function, which allows creators to unlock achievements by collaborating with other creators, creating interactive reels, or using audio and effects.

Creators can also contribute to maintaining “creative momentum”, by creating more than one free Spin per week. The name is somewhat reminiscent of Snapchat Streaks, which begin when users send or receive Snaps from someone for at least three days.

Last month, Instagram launched new advertising platforms and tools for brands, introducing features including music optimization for reels, ads in exploration and profile feeds, multi-tool AI -distributors and AR ads.
