ONE featherweight champion Demetrious Johnson is one of MMA’s top pound-for-pound champions. His excellent skill set has seen him dominate the flyweight division in the UFC and win a world championship in the Circle.

In a similar way on The Joe Rogan The experience, ‘DJ’ and the UFC’s longtime color commentator talked about Johnson’s life. Speaking about the elite fans on social media, ‘Mighty Mouse’ added that these platforms are useful for learning new techniques and adding to his game:

“It’s funny because when I was struggling in my gi, I came back and I saw something on Instagram like ‘Yeah I see’ and I came home play and I’m like ‘Huh! succeed!’ then I put them in and I was like ‘I learned on Instagram’ and they were like ‘Shut the hell up!’ I was like ‘I swear to God,’ this morning. The internet is a great place, and it can be a scary place.”

He adds:

“There is a lot of information on the internet to get. You know, techniques to see how a person does a movement, or how they do a manipulation, or to do a motor.

Coming into the fight after being stopped by Adriano Moraes in his previous fight, Demetrious Johnson explained how going up against one of the world’s toughest fighters has helped build his confidence.

Johnson shared his experience with the Muay Thai phenom:

“It was just fun talking to him and I think this fight is good for my career and my confidence, to lose to Adriano. [Moraes] then come back and fight another tough fighter.”

In a fight between Muay Thai and MMA, Johnson was able to stop in the first round and drop Rodtang in the second. After his return, ‘DJ’ returned to the Circle in a rematch with Adriano Moraes where he successfully avenged his loss and won the ONE flyweight world championship.
