Aaftab Amin Poonawala, the man accused of murdering his girlfriend Shraddha Walker, played the victim on Instagram to trick his friends into believing he was still alive. The woman, a telecom worker, was murdered in May. Poonawala and his friends kept talking until June 9 when he stopped talking. As he remained unconscious for months afterward, his friends spoke to his family members.
Shraddha Walker did not tell her father as he was against her relationship with the accused. His mother died in 2020. According to the father’s complaint, he informed him after his mother’s death that Poonawala had beaten him. He also met his father.
The father also wrote in the complaint that he had asked Shraddha to leave Poonawala. However, Poonawala thanked him and they got back together.
Disappointed with her decision, she stopped talking to him.
Recently, Walkar’s father found out that they had separated.
When she was unable to contact her daughter, she filed a missing person’s report.

The Mumbai Police traced his last whereabouts to Delhi and contacted Poonawala who made the objectionable statement, according to PTI.
At the time of investigation, Poonawala worked at a call center in Gurugram and was dating another woman.
According to police, Poonawala and Walker got into an argument on May 18 after which he strangled her. The next day, he bought a refrigerator and stored his chopped-up body for several weeks.
He throws the body out for each episode.
To suppress the bad smell coming from the body, he uses incense and room air freshener.
Poonawala met each other on an online dating app. Later they worked in the same call center in Mumbai. Because they came from different faiths, their family rejected their relationship.
