In the beginning

Hitachi started playing golf at the age of six. After trying a few other sports like table tennis and badminton, Hitachi finally settled on golf, courtesy her mother Sunita Bakshi who once played the sport. Speaking from her residence in Gurgaon, Hitashi, studying law, said,

“I was very hyperactive. Even today I get restless sometimes. There was an effort from my mother to drive me towards golf so that I could be patient and calm.”

Hitachi’s dream and mission

Hitachi often envisions a scenario where he plays in the Olympics wearing an India jersey. He did not forget to mention,

“It is my dream to represent the country at the Olympics and I am focused on the Paris Olympics. At the end of the year your world ranking should be in the top 300 and my only goal is to be in that position at the end of 2023 so that my dream comes true at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Neeraj Chopra and Lydia Co

Once playing table tennis and badminton, Hitachi usually doesn’t have much time to pursue other sports. But Hitachi took a liking to gold medalist javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra while watching the Tokyo Olympics last year. Hitashi exclaimed,
