Here’s how you can add music to Instagram photo posts | Tech Reddy

While Twitter’s future may seem shaky, there seems to be one social media platform that is getting with the times. Instagram recently unveiled an update that allows users to add music to photo posts, but previously it was only possible on Videos and Stories.

It seems that not everyone has access to the feature, so it is unclear when the device will be available, although someone on Twitter said that the company is “testing” the feature in October 5. The image is only available on single image posts, so you can’t add an audio clip to a carousel post with multiple images.

After selecting and editing a photo, “Add Music” will be listed under the “Tag people,” “Add reminder” and “Add location” buttons, so the song will be selected right before producing the picture.

Some Instagram users have taken to Twitter to express their excitement about the addition to the app, comparing it to the “music profile” feature popularized on Myspace years ago. In mid-October, several technical sources said that Instagram was testing a music feature, but it seems that they have decided to publish music.

Some people on Twitter reported that their Instagram app was “just playing some music,” because they may have updated their app and accessed the ad music section without realizing it. Check out some of the tweets below.

Yes, you can add “People = Shit” to the next photo you post from a Slipknot concert.

If your app hasn’t been updated to include this new option, you won’t hear music on other people’s posts. No official announcement has been made by Instagram at this time, so be patient until the feature becomes available publicly. After the frustration of users with post-scripts, who now prefer Videos over traditional posts, it’s nice to see that they’ve added something to lighten up the photos on in good.
