GURUGRAM: 70 policemen were among the 155 people during a raid against traffic violators here on Wednesday, an official said.
The Gurugram traffic police conducted a nearly four-hour drive near police lines, the police commissioner’s office and the local court, they said.

The traffic police issued 155 fines, including 70 to delinquent policemen, including drivers posted to an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), officials said.

A senior traffic police official said that a driver in charge of an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) was seen driving without a seat belt.

A fine was issued to the driver, who was advised to fasten his seat belt. Many policemen have been issued fines for not obeying traffic rules, the officer said.

“Whether he is a policeman or a common citizen, action will be taken against anyone who violates the rules. In our special operation a total of 155 challans were issued and more than 50 percent of them were policemen. It is necessary to follow traffic rules. To stay safe,” said Virendra. Singh Sangwan, DCP Traffic said.
