Sam Greenwood was among those to congratulate Daniel James on Instagram after the Leeds United winner scored his first goal on loan against Fulham on Sunday.

Of course, James was one of the main goal-setters at Elland Road. The Welshman has been offered a move away as Leeds look to bring in a new forward.

In the end, Leeds’ pursuit went straight to the wire with Willy Gnonto coming in. But thankfully, the Whites did the right thing in letting James complete his move after proving he was surplus to requirements.

Once again, he came off the bench on Sunday when Fulham hosted Manchester United. And with that, the fans in attendance probably weren’t too surprised to see James get on the scoresheet.

The 25-year-old went off within two minutes of his arrival against his former club.

James has since taken to Instagram to talk about the product. One of the responses was Greenwood, with the teenager writing: ‘Love it DJ’…

As Leeds fans, it’s hard to know what we want from James at Fulham.

It looks like he may not get another chance in the Leeds side with Jesse Marsch at the helm. And to be honest, the move just didn’t live up to everyone’s expectations.

So, it’s a big plus for James who is doing well at Fulham. That should encourage the Cottagers to try to sign him on a permanent basis, attracting money from elsewhere.

But obviously, Fulham are a side we should be looking to finish at the top this season. It won’t bode well if James plays a big role at a club that ends up above Leeds.

In that sense, a few goals in defeats is not a bad result – from a very selfish Leeds point of view.
