The company seems intent on making VPN a priority
Google seems to be pushing on all cylinders to make VPN worth using. For once its Google Fi subscribers, Google One and cloud storage owners have also been able to flip the switch and conduct their online business securely. But if you’re on your phone or tablet, this VPN is worth using alone. The company has been promising that the service will be available for Windows and Mac for several months. The good news is here and now.
Google One subscribers at the 2TB tier ($10/month) or higher have access to a mobile VPN. But starting today, they can download the client for their machines on Windows 10 and macOS 11 or later. It will be available in 22 markets where the VPN is already available on Android and iOS.

Users can expect the overall experience provided by mobile apps with industry-standard traffic encryption and a back-up system of checks and balances to protect their web activities. As with all Google One plans, account holders can share VPN access with up to five other people.
The download links have not yet been activated at press time, but should be available from the Google One website when ready. For more up-to-date information, you can refer to the Google One Help page for VPN.
Google explained to Android Police that Pixel 7 owners, who get five years of free VPN access, will need a qualifying Google One plan to take advantage of the desktop client’s features.
