My anime list describes the anime’s plot as follows:
Denji is torn from his normal teenage life and ends up with nothing but his father’s debt. His only companion is his pet, the chained devil Pochita, with whom he kills devils for money, which inevitably ends up in the pockets of the yakuza. All Denji can do is dream of a good, simple life: delicious food and a beautiful girlfriend by his side. But the yakuza’s greedy treachery leads to Denji’s brutal and unexpected death, shattering his hopes for happiness.
