If you need a device that can withstand shocks and still have powerful specifications, you’re not short of options. But today the list of options is expanding. Dell has a new tablet that can perform amazingly even in the most challenging conditions.

Dell has announced the new Latitude 7230 Rugged Extreme tablet, a ruggedly built, reliable and powerful tablet — evident in the tablet’s rugged edges and thick bezels. According to Dell, it’s the lightest and most powerful 12-inch full-size tablet on the market. The 7230 Rugged Extreme features 12th Gen Intel Core processors (up to i7) and integrated Iris Xe graphics for superior performance on the road. It also has Wi-Fi 6E functionality and dual broadband compatibility for higher speeds and lower power consumption.

The Latitude 7230 Rugged has up to 20 hours of battery life, with two hot-swappable batteries, so you can keep it running even longer while you’re on the go. As for the display, the tablet has a 16:10 aspect ratio display, which Dell says provides 13% more active screen real estate than previous generations. It can also be bright – you can see everything in direct sunlight with a brightness of up to 1200 nits. You can even use it with gloves.

Dell allows buyers to customize the tablet to their needs, such as a barcode scanner, an HDMI port, and a removable NVMe SSD. The company also said it “has been tested in temperatures from -20F to 145F by dropping four feet to withstand the toughest conditions.”

Basically, that’s all you could ever ask for in a rugged business tablet. We don’t know pricing details, but Dell says we should know closer to the final shipping date before the end of the year.
