Check New Petrol, Diesel Rates in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Gurgaon, Bangalore
Contrary to popular rumors that there would be a change in petrol and diesel prices, fuel prices were not cut by oil marketing agencies as expected on the first day of the month. Petrol and diesel prices have not come down under the new rates, which are posted by the OMC at 6 am every day.
Yesterday, many media outlets said that petrol and diesel prices will be reduced by 40 paise per litre. The new rates will be effective from 6 am on November 1.
As crude oil prices have been falling and have been consistent for some time, the decline in prices was expected. Crude oil prices have been below $95 per barrel for some time.
If the OMCs had announced a cut in petrol and diesel prices, the fuel prices would have come down after more than six months of stability. The most recent price cut was on April 7 this year.
