Amazon On Wednesday, it announced the latest versions of its Fire 8 tablets. The four new models are Fire HD 8 for $99, Fire HD 8 Plus for $120, and Fire HD 8 Kids and Fire HD 8 Kids Pro for both $150.

Fire tablets are a cheaper alternative Apple’s iPads. Unlike Apple, which derives the bulk of its revenue from hardware, Amazon’s devices serve as a gateway to the company’s ecosystem of services, such as the Alexa voice assistant, music, books and apps.

All four tablets are available for pre-order on Wednesday and will start shipping next month. The new generation of Fire 8 tablets is thinner, lighter and faster than previous versions, according to Amazon.

The $150 Fire HD Kids and Kids Pro come with a one-year subscription to Amazon Kids+, which includes content like books, apps and games. Amazon also sells it for an additional $10 Disney Mickey and the Princess.

In addition to unveiling new devices, Amazon said it will make its Tap to Alexa feature available on Fire tablets. It allows customers to use Alexa by touch rather than voice, helping to improve access for people with speech and mobility issues.
