In 2018, Lucy Blakison was sitting in a Victoria University lecture in Wellington, growing increasingly frustrated with how disconnected she felt from what was being said to her.

So, with two of his best friends in the city, he started a blog called Shit You Should Care About.

Four years later, it turned into a small media empire. His daily newsletter reaches 60,000 subscribers every morning, he hosts two news outlets and runs an Instagram page with 3.6 million followers.
