A report on the majority of applications taken up by October 2022 has been released. As Twitter has always been in the media world, it’s time to analyze what other applications have been achieved this month before.
Out of 10 cumulative results, ByteDance’s TikTok has once again topped the chart after gaining 53 million new downloads, followed by Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. Instagram, in second place with 49 million new downloads, was able to leave Facebook as the social media platform took third place with 42 million installs, after another application and Meta, and WhatsApp, with 37 million downloads. Surprisingly, ByteDance’s CapCut is one of the top 5, with 31 million new downloads.
However, individual results on Apple’s App Store and Android’s Google Play showed a different story. On the App Store, only 2 out of 5 of the most downloaded apps are social media, including TikTok at number 1 with 25 million downloads and Instagram at number 3 with 15 million entries. In fact the remaining three applications are owned by Google, including Google in second place with 17 million installs, Google Maps in fourth, and YouTube in number 5.
On the other hand, the content on Google Play shows a different story from the App Store, since 4 of the top 5 applications are social media. Not only this, but on Google Play, Instagram is at the top of the list with the most installations. After receiving 34 million new downloads, Meta’s application allowed TikTok to slip to third place with 28 million downloads. Instagram was followed closely by Facebook, which added 31 million new users. The most popular instant messaging application from Meta, WhatsApp, is number four with 24 million installations. Google’s Google Page successfully reached the top 5 clubs with 21 million hits.
Although Snapchat failed to make any changes on the App Store, the platform managed to reach the top 10 on Google Play, paving its way into the top 10 list. Twitter, a hot topic these days, can’t get on the charts.
