WhatsApp may be working on an app specially suited for Android tablets as their main app is suitable for phones. As noted by WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp beta version that was launched earlier and is compatible with Android 2.22.21.6 included a companion mode that allows users to link their Android tablet to an existing account. Thus, users can access WhatsApp from a tablet without being tied to a mobile phone number. However, the Android 2.22.24.8 beta has all the hallmarks of being a full-fledged tablet app, including an in-app banner that says “WhatsApp for tablets.”
As noted by GizBots, there are reports that some beta testers have started using the app on their tablet devices after downloading it from the Google Play Store. The same goes for the sign-up process, which includes a QR code screen that will be displayed after the WhatsApp app is launched on the tablet. Scanning the code with a compatible mobile device allows you to link the app to your WhatsApp account. Once this is done, users will be able to use WhatsApp on their tablet devices just like on their smartphones.
The Meta-owned messaging platform already has a mobile app available for Android and iOS platforms. It also allows users to access messages on a desktop device via WhatsApp Web. The same smartphone required a connection to work, but recently started working on its own. The messaging app is also one of the most used worldwide and boasts over two billion monthly active users. There was no dedicated tablet app and now the app that is being taken care of will have the same representation on almost all types of devices currently in use.
With my passion for technology, I aim to stay updated with the latest news in the world of technology and gadgets. This includes smartphones or tablet devices, but even extends to AI and self-driving cars, the latter of which is my latest fad. Besides writing, I like to watch videos, read, listen to music or experiment with different recipes. Cinema is another aspect that I am very interested in, maybe I will make a movie in the future.
