Girl, 6, killed by speeding motorcycle: Gurugram Police

Gurugram:

A six-year-old girl died after being hit by a speeding motorcycle in a village near Manesar in Gurugram, police said on Thursday.

The incident took place in Dhana village on Wednesday, they said, and the victim was identified as Chalika Sharma.

According to the complaint filed by the minor’s father, the incident took place around 6:30 pm when his daughter was returning from tuition with her mother.

“Right near my rented room, someone on a bullet motorcycle came from the opposite direction and hit my daughter,” he said.

The minor was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her brought dead, he said.

In his complaint, the father said, “My daughter’s death was due to the negligence of the driver who managed to escape from the spot with his bike.”

An FIR was registered against the driver under sections 279 (rash driving), and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code at the IMT, Manesar police station on Thursday.

Investigating officer ASI Chandan Singh said the body has been handed over to the family after post-mortem and efforts are on to nab the accused.
