24 hours in Wrexham: Vandalized charging station, stolen bike and theft of washing machine

City center officers have been hit by an electric car charging station, a collision, a theft of washing tablets and a stolen bike in the past 24 hours.

In his daily report, Inspector Luke Hughes said police had dealt with 52 incidents between 7am on Wednesday 2nd and 7am today.

A full update from Insp Hughes and summaries of some of the calls can be found below:

8:45 a.m. – RTS report on Bridge Street. The vehicle collided with a road repairer. The vehicle was searched and an investigation is underway – no serious injuries were reported.

09:47 hours – Shoplifting – Green Island. Detergent tablets reported stolen. Could it be Willy Wonka? The chocolate wasn’t stolen for a while, but instead it went into the laundry now?

11:14 a.m. – Assisted another agency in attendance at a residence on Eastern Avenue – police reported no criminal activity.

11:32 a.m. – Report of religious door knockers – Coopers closes. There is no doubt about the crime.

12:22 p.m.: Noisy buses are causing problems in the city center. These people were moved out of Chester because of their behavior and I don’t want that to happen again here. NPT will continue to monitor.

2:05 p.m. – A report of a power outage at Waterworld.

2:24 p.m.- Report of damage on Herbert Jennings Avenue. A man dressed in black is seen smashing a window with a rock.

No intentional damage or trespassing. Did you see anything at this time yesterday? Please contact and quote B166374.

2:37 p.m.- Report of a wheelchair near railroad tracks on Waterway. Officers attend and confirm this is not the case – the temporary line restriction has been lifted.

3:44 p.m. – A female assaulted an officer involved in a domestic dispute. He was arrested and a criminal case was initiated. The officer remained on duty.

16:00 – Care of woman – taken to safety.

5:52 pm – Stupid on a dirt bike downtown. No helmet, driving on Bradley Road.

19:00 – Missing 14-year-old girl. Safe and well located.

Nothing else is relevant to this forum.

04:41 a.m. – Report from a resident in the Berse Road area. A CCTV doorbell alerts her to a suspicious male on her way. The caller is away from the address but returns and realizes his bike has been stolen.

He contacts us and starts searching his area and finds the suspect before we do.

His bike is found and the suspect also drops his gloves. It’s a bit like Cinderella and her golden slippers now. The most sober member of the community, I offer him a job.

But seriously, it gets the idea that there are opportunists out there, so watch out, we’ve lost a number of bikes in recent weeks.

That’s all from me today, and tomorrow is a rare day off due to my father’s semi-annual review. However, if there are any significant changes overnight or over the weekend, I will let you know.

Be aware that there will be a significant police presence downtown on Sunday morning. The road will be closed as usual after the game.

I am well aware of the frustration with parking and these are being handled by the neighborhood team.

Have a great weekend, take care if you go to the fireworks, wrap up warm and stay safe 👍🏽.

Luke
