The Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government issued a notification declaring December 26 a public holiday on Monday, according to news agency ANI.
In a detailed notification, the state government said: “In continuation of this Department Notification No. 3640-F (P2) dated November 26, 2021, the Governor is pleased to declare on December 26, 2022 (Monday) as a holiday on the following day. Christmas for State Government Offices, Local Bodies, Statutory Bodies, Councils, Corporations and Government-controlled or owned Enterprises of the State, educational institutions, other offices/institutions under the control of the Government of West Bengal with the exception of the offices of Registrar of Insurance, Kolkata and Collector of Stump Revenue, Kolkata”.
