The Indian team is scheduled to tour Bangladesh for a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series and a two-Test series. The first ODI of the series will be played on December 04, Sunday. The series marks the return of captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul who were absent during the New Zealand tour.

Rohit has started preparing for the upcoming series. In an Instagram post on Sunday, the right-handed batsman was seen practicing in the nets. He posted a picture thread of his net session with the caption “In my area”. The post has gone viral on social media with many fans commenting.

Indian cricketer Kedar Jadhav responded to Rohit’s post and said “Ro is very sharp looking. The best is yet to come mate.”

Earlier, former Indian captain Virat Kohli also shared a video on Instagram in which he was seen training hard in the gym, lifting weights and doing fitness.

The upcoming Bangladesh tour will be Rohit’s first series as captain after India’s exit from the 2022 T20 World Cup, losing to England in the final. The ODIs against Bangladesh will prepare the Men in Blue for the 2023 ODI World Cup to be held in India. The Test series is also important as it influences India’s ranking in the Test Championship.

Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan-led Indian team in the ongoing ODI series against hosts New Zealand where the visitors are trailing 0-1. The Men in Blue also played a three-match T20I series on the road under skipper Hardik Pandya and won 1-0.

The win against New Zealand under the leadership of Pandya has inspired Rohit’s critics who are supporting the whole tournament to take the captaincy of Team India in T20Is.
