Indian cricket star Virat Kohli on November 26 shared a post on Instagram that had his followers scratching their heads, sparking rumors of retirement. The powerful batsman, who is enjoying a break from cricket along with India captain Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, R Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, and Dinesh Karthik, posted a photo of his knock against Pakistan on Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup. 2022 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground last month.

In that match, Kohli had smashed an unbeaten 82 off just 53 balls which helped India chase down 160 in the final over. His knock was hailed as his best T20 knock when India needed 28 runs from 8 balls.

“23rd October 2022 will be special in my heart. Never felt such energy in the game of cricket before. What a great evening,” Kohli wrote in his post.

After this announcement, fans are still wondering if Kohli is choosing the MS Dhoni way of announcing his retirement. The Indian wicketkeeper announced his retirement on August 15 2020 through an Instagram post.

One reason why fans fear Kohli’s retirement is that India are keen to rebuild their T20I side after repeated failures in international tournaments. Meanwhile, Kohli will return to action in the ODI and Test series against Bangladesh.
