Spotify announced today a number of new tools and improvements for users, including an Ambient mode experience on Amazon’s Omni QLED TV series and an updated Spotify App on Apple Watch.
Despite some legal issues with Apple, Spotify introduced an update to the Spotify app on the Apple Watch. Users, therefore, will be able to search for songs, podcasts, and playlists. The update expands the basic Spotify app on the Apple Watch, however minute changes like swiping to like a song you’re listening to and great animations have been added. Furthermore, the app highlights new podcast episodes with a green dot to notify users of recent additions.
Spotify users can access music and Spotify recommendations through Ambient mode with TVs from the Amazon Fire TV QLED Omni Series. Ambient mode shows information such as weather, news, and other reminders, but it will also have a Spotify music player that allows users to browse albums and songs.
The company expanded its relationship with Delta Airlines by creating a special playlist, which includes songs played as passengers board the plane. The playlist will update every month.
Last year, Spotify introduced Spotify Tap which allows users to play songs with a single button. The first product came from headphones and earbuds, but now it’s available in Ray-Ban stores. So, users can play songs on their earbuds by pressing and holding the buttons on the side of their Ray-Bans. To play something else, users have to click and hold the button again.
