Amazon India and TVS Motor Company today (November 9) announced a strategic partnership to strengthen electric mobility, electric infrastructure and connected services.

As part of this partnership, an electric two-wheeler and three-wheeler fleet from TVS Motor will be deployed on Amazon’s last miles, TVS Motor said in a statement.

In addition, the two companies will work together to explore EV use cases across Amazon’s various business groups for network and logistics needs.

In order to test the solutions, the two companies will pilot TVS Motor’s electric vehicle solutions on a partner basis and deliver services across India.

“The partnership marks another decisive step for Amazon to achieve our goal of becoming net-zero carbon by 2040, as part of our commitment to the Climate Change Commitment. E-commerce is an integral part of our business operations and we are committed to transforming our transportation network to serve our customers sustainably,” said Abhinav Singh, Director-Customer Fulfillment, Supply Chain and Global Specialty Fulfillment, Amazon India.

“Our partnership with TVS Motor strengthens our distribution network by adding electric two- and three-wheelers to our existing fleet. This will support our supply chain in reducing the environmental impact of our operations and contribute to Amazon India’s goal of importing 10,000 EVs into our fleet by 2025,” added Singh.

Speaking about the partnership, Manu Saxena, Senior Vice President, Future Mobility, TVS Motor Company said, “We have always been at the forefront of electrification in this industry by continuing to focus on the two and three wheeler sector. With the huge success of TVS Qube Electric, we are now looking to expand our electrical offering across multiple sectors and commercial mobility in the right place for flexibility. “

“TVS Motor is now ready with an electric two-wheeler with three B2B product options and an integrated service ecosystem with one ownership,” Saxena said.

“We are happy to partner with Amazon India, which marks a major step in our journey, and contributes to our joint goal of electrifying their travel services. We are confident that this partnership will open the door to creative solutions that will further develop a strong, sustainable, and bright future,” added Saxena. .

In 2020, Amazon India announced that it will include 10,000 EVs in its delivery fleet by 2025. This is part of the overall progress towards the Climate Commitment – the commitment to achieve net-zero carbon by 2040, ten years ahead of the Paris Agreement.

The launch of these EVs is in addition to Amazon’s global commitment of 100,000 EVs by 2030.

The partnership with TVS Motor Company is an important step in Amazon India’s progress in the e-mobility industry and in achieving its net-zero carbon goals, the statement said.
