A bug in tvOS 16.1 causes the latest Apple TV models with 128GB of storage to run out of memory when the user has used 64GB of storage.
A bug, first noted in the FlatpanelsHDNew and recent Apple TV reviews The world of Mac, causes the new models of Apple TV with 128GB of storage to think that it has only 64GB of memory when in fact it can be stored twice. Once the Apple TV exceeds 64GB of used storage, users are presented with the following message when trying to download a new app: “The app cannot be installed because there is not enough space. Delete one or more apps or manage your storage. in Settings.”
According to FlatpanelsHD, the bug has not been fixed in the latest tvOS 16.2 beta. Meanwhile, users affected by the bug using an Apple TV with 128GB of memory can try to line up enough downloads together until their Apple TV exceeds the 64GB capacity limit.
