– Set a new record in the Indian Open Class

– Jagan Kumar and KY Ahamad test the traction bikes

The official team of TVS Motor Company, TVS Racing participated in the Valley Run drag race for the first time this year. Interestingly, with the daughter’s participation, the team also set a new record with the trailer version of the TVS Apache RR310supersport offering.

Held at the Aamby Valley Airport in Pune, the event saw TVS Racing grab the top two positions in the Indian Open Class (up to 390cc). Piloting the Apache RR310 pull were TVS riders Jagan Kumar and KY Ahamad who were the two fastest riders in the quarter mile run with times of 11.523sec and 11.996sec, respectively. Notably, both riders won national circuit racing championships in their ongoing run with TVS Racing.

Now, talking about the rival motorcycle, the Apache RR310 dragster is much faster than the stock version, thanks to several upgrades. To give you an idea, it makes almost double the power output of the machine on the road. And that is achieved by using an electronically controlled turbocharger with titanium connecting rods, titanium valves, and lightweight forged pistons. Also, there are a few carbon-fibre parts to reduce weight and the quick change and start control make it faster. Notably, this extended swingarm-equipped iteration of the Apache weighs 37 percent less than stock trim.
