Release the fourth and final season of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy continues, according to showrunner Steve Blackman.


Blackman posted a photo on his Instagram showing the cover page of the script for the first episode of Season 4, with the note, “And so it begins … for the last time” with a heart and scattering emojis. The page credited Jesse McKeown as the episode’s writer and featured its ironic title: “The Impossible Tragedy of Getting What You Want.”

The Umbrella Academy, based on the fictional series of the same name by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, which debuted on Netflix in 2019 and has become one of the main series of the streamer. The show focuses on a group of seven siblings through adoption, each with their own unique abilities and trained from childhood by bitter billionaire Reginald Hargreeves to become famous heroes. When they reunite as adults, the Umbrella Academy must overcome their personal struggles and work together to save the world.

The second season that started in July 2020 will see the team stuck in the 1960s after some unplanned trips, and in Season 3, released in June 2022, they will return to today it appears to have changed.
