The royal family’s Instagram account has shared some photos showing the Queen’s dedication to the Armed Forces ahead of the annual Remembrance Ceremony.

Shared in a press release this morning, the snaps captured the Queen – who has been Britain’s Head of State for 70 years – in her military uniform, meeting soldiers and women, and examine the poppy flowers.

Among the highlights is a photograph showing Her Majesty, who died on 8 September 2022 at Balmoral aged 96, attending the 1955 Remembrance Service.

Ahead of this evening’s Remembrance Ceremony, King Charles and the Queen Consort, along with senior members of the Royal Family, will be in attendance and will ‘pay special tribute to Queen Elizabeth’.

This year’s theme will reflect the value of ‘work’ and honor Queen Elizabeth, who has been the Head of the Royal Family for 70 years.

In 1945, Princess Elizabeth became the first member of the royal family to become a full-time member of the Army, when she joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS).

‘Besides being the Chief of Staff, Queen Elizabeth is the wife, mother and grandmother of people who have served in the Staff. Much of Her Majesty’s life was spent meeting and serving members of the Armed Forces and their families.
