‘Tis the time to curl up on the sofa and watch the holiday classics below a candle Christmas tree lighting.
There are plenty of holiday movies to choose from, so Budgeting and Investing on the Wealthy Nickel website used data from Rotten Tomatoes and Google Trends to rank the most popular Christmas movies in each country.
“I’m just thinking [different holiday movies] brings back fond memories of Christmas — whether it’s holiday traditions, family gatherings, or twinkling lights on the tree,” the statement reads in part.
In Texas, “The Grinch” came out on top, beating out other holiday classics like “Home Alone,” “The Polar Express” and “Frosty the Snowman,” in the rankings.
There are now three movies based on Dr. Seuss’ 1957 book, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” – the 1966 television special of the same name, the 2000 live-action film also named after the book, and the 2018 animated film “The Grinch,” Screen Rant reported.
The Grinch was a favorite in the neighboring states of Louisiana and Arkansas, the report said. However, the most popular Christmas in Texas’ remaining neighbors were “Edward Scissorhands” in New Mexico and “Polar Express” in Oklahoma.
