Regional teams were well represented, as the Eastern District Football Coaches Association recently released their all-district teams.
Tri-Valley senior Alison Yingling was named Division I Girls Player of the Year, while the Scotties’ Emily Reilly was Coach of the Year, John Glenn’s Will Hess was named Division II Coach of the Year, Rosecrans sophomore Sydnee Maxwell was arrested. third Division Girls Player of the Year, and Ridgewood’s Tim Tubbs earned third Division Coach of the Year honors.
West Muskingum’s Ryan Moore was named Division III Girls Assistant Coach of the Year, and the River View girls were given the Division II Sportsmanship Award, along with New Philadelphia (D-II) and Caldwell (D-III) boys and Sandy Valley girls. (D-III).
Other top honorees were Dover’s Eric Smith, Division I Boys Player of the Year, Dover’s Austin Wade, Division I Boys Coach of the Year, Steubenville’s Anthony Vendetti, Division II Boys Player of the Year, Tusky Valley’s Jesse Brothers, Division III Boys Player of the Year Year. The all-Ohio teams were also announced Thursday, as Rosecrans’ Sydnee Maxwell earned first-team all-Division III girls honors; Maysville’s Wyatt Mynes and John Glenn’s Will Nicolozakes were second-team selections for the Division II boys; and Rosecrans’ Grady Labishak made the Division III boys second team.
Academic honorees include Coshocton’s Myrakle Johnson and Maysville’s Josh Parker receiving Scholarship Awards, while Cambridge, Coshocton, John Glenn, Maysville, Morgan, Philo, Ridgewood, River View, Tri-Valley, West M and Zanesville girls and Cambridge, Maysville, Morgan, I -River View, Tri-Valley and West M boys received Team Academic honors for having a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The Coshocton girls also held their end of season banquet. Juniors Cady Jackson and Lucy Baylor and Emme Jackson received certificates; senior Hailey Helter, juniors Maria Ramon-Sotil and Julia Cutrina Bach (4 assists) and freshman Mia Lauvray received first-year awards; senior Ella Baylor and sophomores Ashley Bryant, Brooklyn Nelson, Courtney Snyder (8 a), Addie Underwood (3 a), Gabriella Wesney and Sophia Skelton were awarded second year awards; Juniors Aerianna Braxton (3 a), Anna Jansen, Isabelle Lauvray (17 points, 3 a) and Cammy Wilson (3 g) received three-year awards and four-year award winners Myrakle Johnson (2 g, 3 a) and Destiny Frye (107 saves, 3 closures).
